BC Racing BR Type Coilover install for Nissan 240SX '95-'98 S14
Start by loosening lugs. Then Jack up the car and
support it with jackstands. If you're baller or have access to a lift,
use it.
Remove wheel to make things easier to work on :) Then
remove bolt from the bracket.
Then remove the other.
Move the hub assembly out of the way of the coilover
Remove the 3 nuts holding the coilover to the shock
tower. Support the spring assembly so it does not fall to the floor
After it is removed, you are ready to install your new
BC coilovers. Feed the 3 studs on the camber plate through the shock
tower hols making sure the orientation is correct.
Put the bolts back through the coiloverand hub assembly
and tighten.
Make sure that all the collars are tight. The process is
the same for the other side of the car.
You are now ready to remove the rear spring assembly
Remove the lower nut on the rear hub assembly
You can now access the nuts at the top of the rear shock
tower. If you have full interior, you may have to remove access panels
to get to these.
Next, you will remove these nuts and hold the spring
assembly so that it doesn't hit the floor
You can now pull out the spring assembly
Next tighten the nuts on the shock tower, put the rear
lower bolt back on and tighten. Make sure you tighten the collars.
Now you're ready to go out and tune your setup!
Making height adjustments:
Front- Loosen
lower collar. Remove the 2 bolts from the lower bracket and pull back
hub assembly. The spin the lower bracket to desired height. Reassemble.
Rear- Loosen lower collar. Remove the lower nut on rear hub that
coilover is attached to. Pull coilover off of the bolt and now you can
spin the lower piece on the coilover to desired height.
